Daniel E. Knudsen, Au.D., CCC-A has joined the Hearing Center team and brings to Muncie his passion for the profession of 19+ years! “Danno” has spent the past 16 years practicing audiology in Alaska working within the Indian Health Service, and three years with his own private practice in Juneau and the southeast area of Alaska.
A recent graduate of Salus University with the Professional Doctorate in Audiology, Daniel hopes to build long-term relationships with the people in the Muncie area, and further enhance hearing care throughout central Indiana. Daniel earned his B.S. and M.S. in Communication Disorders from Colorado State University in 1990 and 1991 and worked with the IHS from 1992 – 2004 before venturing into private practice. He recently relocated back to the Midwest to be near family and the love of his life, Lynda. While in Alaska, Dan initiated the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention initiative and worked tirelessly for 14 years until legislation was passed requiring hearing screenings for all Alaskan newborns. He was also a speaker for, and member of the Alaska Federal Healthcare Access Network teaching and promoting telemedicine throughout rural areas of Alaska. Daniel also worked closely with Alaskan legislators to bring cutting-edge hearing healthcare to rural Alaskan residents, and still maintains close contact with many people from that region. I hope I can be an inspiration to the people of central Indiana as much as the folks I worked with in Alaska were to me for so many years,” said Danno. “I truly love what I do!
